Right-click file/Send to desktop option gone

Maybe I'm getting too old to learn new tricks. (I liked Win XP.) Anyway....

Say I create a file and then I want to send a shortcut of that file to the desktop. Up until about a month ago the 'send shortcut to desktop' option was there when I right-clicked the file. Now it's gone. (I can and now do create a shortcut and drag it to the desktop - but that's a pain.)

I don't know what, if anything, I did to cause that option to disappear -- but I want it back! Help appreciated.

Microsoft are trying to make this feature redundant and instead are hoping that you'll pin it to the task bar, however if you Shift+left Click on whatever you want to send to the desktop you'll see the 'Send to' option reappear as a menu and within that 'Desktop (create shortcut)'.

    Thanks

Thanks for the Shift + Left Click tip. It works and is exactly what I was looking for.
