    How do you use the print screen function on a laptop with Windows 7 when the prt scr button has a box around it?

    Dont know about the box around print screen, but this is how a print screen is performed. Did you do it correctly?

    Hi, not to sure what you mean by "a box around it" but try pressing Prt Scm button, open Paint, click on paste & you should have your copy.

    Have you looked at using the Snipping tool in Windows 7 to capture the screen you want ?

    Hello Jones, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    On some laptops you may need to press the FN key + Print Screen key for it to work for full screen screenshot, and ALT + FN + Print Screen to capture a screenshot of the active window.
