If you are using anything other then 7000 your a Pirate Hi found this on the official MS 7 forums and web site Quote: Windows 7 Beta
Sorry, Windows 7 Beta downloads are no longer available. You can still register for a product key or look up the key you've already gotten. To look up your product key, just pick your version and language below, and click Go. From there, sign in with your Windows Live ID, and your product key will appear on the next page. so you cannot officially download 7 anymore MS tech forums Quote: N said: Where and how to send feedback about Build 7057? Can I port the feedback tool from 7048?
I do not understand. I want to help with testing. Where to send the feedback, how?
Hi
The interim builds that you are using are not meant for general bug reporting or feedback. I'll try to explain.
All of the following information is publically available if you do the research.
When the public beta program first starts, a version is released that has been extensively tested and determined to be stable enough for the general public to start testing. This first version (In this case v. 7000) is used as the base code for all of the bug reporting and feedback until the next official version is released.
With Windows 7, it has already been publically stated that the next official beta version will the RC (Release Candidate).
As the beta progresses and bugs are reported, interim, internal builds are created and specific testing scenarios are created to test fixes for reported bugs and requested changes (from v. 7000) that have been added to the core code of the operating system in these interim builds.
These interim builds are distributed internally and to third party partner ISVs, IHVs, around the world that they use to test their products for compatibility. During this process, one of these interim versions may be leaked and end up on a torrent site where anyone can download it.
These leaked versions were never intended to be publically available and are only meant to be used for the specific testing scenarios that I mentioned before.
Of course, these leaked versions will also contain all of the updates to the code and existing features that have been added as part of the normal beta process.
These official Windows 7 support forums are focused on the official beta version, (v. 7000) and any feedback or bug reports posted here are assumed to have come from this official version. This version is still the only viable build for bug reporting.
When the Release Candidate is made available, we will be supporting that version.
Thank you for understanding. So My frustration here is that the Mods and Admin and I are using builds like 7077.
Even if you downloaded 7000 when it was available from MS 7077 never has been nor 7068 or 7106.
So when I joined I asked about downloading from a torrent and such and got my hand slapped, but if we are going to talk about all these builds, any build but 7000 is not official.
We are all pirates since we do not officially have permission to run 7068, 7077, 7106 what ever.
Can we at least talk about problems and sources with these builds or do we have to hide, admit we have a unofficial build and keep dancing around the info?
There is no official RC yet (7077 is an RC escrow the best build yet)
So those who scramble to get a 71xx build are getting unstable builds
Those who get the 70xx should have stability.
If you or any other poster is going to post win 7 is crap and you are using a 71xx build or you have major problems then format your disk and use 7000 or 7077 rc .
How can we help you with a known unstable build? | My System Specs |

Hello Howdr,
Yes, the only supported official release of Windows 7 by Micorosft is the 7000 beta build. The soon to be released Windows 7 RC build will be the next official version to be supported by Microsoft.
We are allowed to discuss these Windows 7 builds here. We just cannot discuss or post download links for the unofficial builds here. That's all.

That just proves that M$ know that the builds are out there and doing nothing about it. They definately wont support the interim builds, and I wouldn't expect them to. The best way to advertise software of this magnitude is to carry on letting people use the full ultimate product for free they will all expire so we're left with 1 last question.....Do we buy Microsoft Windows 7 when it hits the stores???

Shawn "Supported"? but these other builds are intellectual property and are not "Supported" because they are not supposed to be in the hands of anyone but the people Microsoft gave it to confidential.
So the ones who "leaked this" broke the law? How am I wrong in this?
Microsoft will just not make a case out of Beta software thats all,
But it hurts Microsoft when XYZ uses build 7106 and its unstable and then tells 10 or more other people that Windows 7 is crap, does it not?
I guess I saying people are are not posting good information at times, telling us that there is a RC1 out there and that the 7106 was the newest build when it was not. I thought to put this out there, that not to judge Windows 7 by unstable builds. | My System Specs | | OS Win 7 7100 Other Info OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate

If there was a big issue about us using these interim builds then our activation keys would be deactivated during the compiling process.
The information we give & recieve about the various builds is purely for this forum only. There's nothing wrong with us stating that a particular build is cr@p because there are enough professional people on this forum to warrent such advice.
I for 1 sometimes listen more to what is bad than good as it helps me decide what build to download next. Not a good argument, because Microsoft is not rebuilding the activation library in case it is leaked, they give out daily or weekly new beta builds to developers, no time really to do so much work.
I agree the attitude is Microsoft may not seem to be over concerned but still damage is being done read some comments on the net and blogs. | My System Specs | | OS Win 7 7100 Other Info OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate

I don't read that anywhere in the comment, or anything like it.
