    Want to dual-boot but...

    Hi there guys.
OK, I want to dual boot with 7100 until the official release of 7100 in French. But, my main 200GB hard drive only has one partition and my two other HDDs are used for file storage. but my 200GB has like 120GB of unused drive space.

So, I would like to resize my current Vista partition to like 100GB and take the rest for the new other one.

I would have used Partition Magic for this but since it doesn't work on Vista and since the NTFS file system isn't exactly the same from XP's, then, I'm lost.

So, any advice on what to do and what to use?

Do I need to defragment my hard drive before resizing my partition?

It will not hurt anything by doing so, but it is not required.

Just did a quick TuneUp Drive Defrag and my C:\ drive did not need any defragmentation.

I'm so resizing my partition. Thanks for the help. Will give rep to both of you.

Damn. I had to take the long run finally. The MFTs were scattered through my HDD so I could resize like I wanted. I'm following How-To-Geek's way to get the thing sorted.

I hope you managed to get it sorted to where you can shrink it enough to create a partition large enough to dual boot with.
