Because Explorer does not know the difference between a folder and a junction. As far as Explorer (and every other application) is concerned a junction is a folder. As it should be. If a junction was seen as something other then a folder, it would ruin the purpose of junctions. Even if it did, plugging in specialized error messages just for these compatibility junctions would just be garbage in the code.
You also brought back an old thread, please avoid doing that in the future.
