A window with the desktop pops up when I start the comp

    Yes I can, Mister Dwarf, just like a regular normal window...

    but...

    Thorsen, I might have accidentally done something to fix it, tho I have no idea what, because I just rebooted my c and this time there was no desktop window.

    Back to the "peek at desktop" function: has anyone else tried it? What is it supposed to do, and is there a problem with it?

    I've had no problems with this, and I've got it enabled. See Aero Peek - Turn On or Off

    It might be one of those things that remains a mystery as to why your problem seems to have solved itself, although a single restart is not concrete proof that it has. Try restarting again a few times to see if the problem has truly gone.

    Restarted again and again no desktop window. Good.

    I disabled Aero as soon as I upgraded to Windows 7. Could there be a problem checking the peek with aero diabled?

    wwww, I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted.

    I have not had any issues myself with "peek at desktop" unchecked or after a restart.

I just purchased a full copy of windows 7 64 bit. When i boot from CD and it says "Windows is loading files..." and then proceeds to that nice blue screen.... well thats as far as i get no Install window pops up all i see is a pretty background and a mouse cursor. cant go any further than that....
Hi :-) I hope this is in the right place. I'm new to Win7 ... and I must say, it is not as great as they said it was gonna be. It's Vista, and maybe worse - for me. So ... if anyone can help me with a few of the more irritating options, I will be eternally grateful.
