Some how 22g worth of data is being sent to the recycle

For some reason, now twice in the last week or so I've had 22g worth of data/songs/files etc dumped into the recycle bin - something that should not of happened as I didnt try to delete anything.

Is there a way/log to tell what has happened & why its doing this?

Could it be your anti-virus? Try disabling it and see what happens.

This sounds a bit weird to me. Which locations are these files located on?
It might be a Windows error that makes it happens, or a program if you have any shredder applications installed?

Did you clean temporary files or any other disc clean up? Did you use any cleaners?
Check your task scheduler for any maintenacne, also check your A/V, for maintenance chores.

First... are you actually losing valid data? That is, is your music collection slowly disappearing?

If you open the trash can as a folder and view in details, it should tell you where the files came from...

I got caught on this one, once....
If you a using uTorrent this could do it.... uncheck the "Delete to Trash" option in the setup panels. When uTorrent downloads it creates a temporary copy of the torrent contents in it's own folder... When the torrent finishes it makes a second copy of the complete torrent and deletes the temporary files. They fill the trash can real fast but no actual data loss occurs.
