Hello RJmach,

Does Computer Management open when you type in compmgmt.msc in the Start Menu search box and press enter?

Windows XP - Now Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit).

Strange one. Possible file corruption? If this is a recent problem would a system restore to a previous good working state help - perhaps?

Hey Manhunter... This is actually a very frequent bug in Windows 7... that shortcut has gone broken on every Windows 7 machine I've worked on. Not to worry, there are other ways of getting at the management console as you can see...

Ok RJ,

I found a fix for this below if you would like to use it.

Manage - Fix "File does not have a program associated"

You would need to first change the CompMgmtLauncher.bat back to CompMgmtLauncher.exe for the at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\Manage\command in the registry to undo the workaround above.
