Windows 7...I cannot download any programs

It will not allow me to download anything. I am getting so frustrated. It usually says something about system firewall settings. I even went as far as turning off the firewall and it still will not allow me to download.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

Michelle

One difference between Windows 7 and earlier OS. You cannot download with Windows 7 unless you are activated. Make sure that you are, indeed, activated, even if you are sure that you did activate your OS.

Maybe if you gave us some more of your hardware specs, internet connection type, any screen snips of your download problems, we might have some more ideas for help.

In addition make a malware and virus scan.

I didn't know that; tried to rep you for this tip but I have to 'spread around' first, so here's an official Thank You!

TY, appreciation is as good as rep. That information is not official, just something that I picked up somewhere and remembered just now. Thanks so much Kari.

Read this tutorial: Activate Windows 7 Online.

If you can not activate your copy of Windows online, try the phone activation. Here's a tutorial telling how to do that: Activate Windows 7 by Phone

If you have a legal copy of Windows, you also have an activation key.
