How to group files by each letter?

in Xp when i wanted to group my songs I would group them by each letter

but with windows 7 its grouping them



and so on.. how do i change this?

Im pretty certain they changed this in Vista & 7 and there's no known way to change it back...

"group by" troubles in folders

Working with files and folders

You can sort by name but not group by name.

Another solution would be to create libraries for each letter and place the appropriate files in each library.

no drive letter is created with backup files VHD
I have a 300GB hard drive that I am trying to attach. After attaching the VHD file and selecting the backup files on the hard drive the device apparently attaches but no drive is created with the next available drive letter so that I can explore the contents of the drive.
