Question about forum and win 7

I'm curious, are you guys going to blacklist me until I get a true copy windows, until everything gets straightened out or will I be blocked on the forum? Will I still be able use Windows 7 without any problems until I get the resolution answered paypal/ebay or will this copy crash on me until i get my true retail one. Wow, this so bummer and I thought it would be easier to buy it online. First time I bought a windows product online and I get ..I know my dad is laughing with "I TOLD YOU SO"

Im guessing if you "got swindled" the management won't blacklist you. I highly suggest that you buy your copy of Windows 7 from a real website such as...

TigerDirect.com - Computers, Computer Parts, Computer Components, Netbooks & Electronics
    or
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, LED LCD TV, Digital Cameras and more!

You can get an OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium for $100 at newegg. Granted, OEM means that it locks to the mobo/cpu so you can't really upgrade those parts that easily and it doesn't come w/ returns or support from MS but it's a legit copy!

    Home Premium 32-BIT OEM - $100
    Home Premium 64-BIT OEM - $100
    Home Premium Upgrade - $110
    Home Premium Retail/Full - $180

    Professional 32-BIT OEM - $140
    Professional 64-BIT OEM - $140
    Professional Upgrade - $175
    Professional Retail/Full - $270

    Ultimate 32-BIT OEM - $175
    Ultimate 64-BIT OEM - $175
    Ultimate Upgrade - $195
    Ultimate Retail/Full - $285

Well, I'm not buying nothing until I see some sort of resolution from Microsoft, EBAY, or PAYPAL. I already shalled out $165. Microsoft is re-looking at the problem and I gave them images of my product. Still waiting to hear back from Ebay and Paypal. And, I also asked Microsoft about the student discount because I'm student. And, I heard that students are picking up the same edition I have for $35 bucks. I only paid $10 less than what it retails for. I didn't go for the cheapest product on ebay or those downloadable key gens and software. I knew those were scams and I tried to stay clear of that. I just can't see how an airtight plastic covering seal un-opened can be a fake. Oh, well wish me luck in a resolution, and hopefully soon.

It does seem as if you have had real bad luck here. As far as the plastic seal is concerned, the machines to do this are quite cheap nowadays and the "baddies" all have one ready for immediate action. It is often really difficult for the experts to tell when a dosk is fake until it is actually loaded onto a OC. By then the damage is done! Look into the Pay pal small print. I think if you can prove goods are not what they were advertised to be you have case against Pay Pal. Just my thoughts, I'm no lawyer! Hope it all turns out well for you. Sooner than going direct to MS try one of their accredited agents for your Students copy of the OS.

I feel bad for you. But I have to ask why you would have gone this route if you only saved $10 over retail.

I'm curious, what ebay store did you purchase this from? I hope everything gets worked out for you. In the future save yourself the worry and purchase from a reputable retailer or Microsoft Partner.

I have faith in paypal, they have in the past refunded me and also if that don't get refunded, try ebay because it did have a buyer beware buyback...and my bank is usually cool about refunds when using direct checking account payments. I should went to amazon. but I saw it 10 bucks cheaper thought I could save for some gas. lol ;p I learned my lesson. And soon as everything get straigihten out money wise. Than, I will go through the Mircosoft piracy and send them the necessary disk and products, tracking number and receipt of purchase and paypal address of said seller. Hopefully they get fingerprints besides mine and catch the guy. ;p I doubt that will ever happen.

This forum does not require its users to have a copy of Windows 7 in order to be here. So unless you break a rule, you will be fine. :)

I'll save $100. :) I just hope everything goes smooth. And, I'm putting a $500 insurance in case it gets lost int he mail. lol [with my luck anyway] Thanks all.
