Open Programs and Websites Icons

With XP and Vista the task bar showed which programs were open and which websites were open. These were listed between the quick launch area and the notification area. In W7 I can hover over quick launch icons to see what is open. But I would like to see them as they were with Vista/XP? Is that possible?

I think you are getting confused by a default setting. My I suggest setting the taskbar buttons to "Combine when taskbar is full"? Right-click on the taskbar and select Properties.

It's not the same as XP or Vista at all, but it's less confusing.
