Got one better for you.

Grab the program Known Folders Browser 1.0 (for Vista and Beyond) - Kenny Kerr and you'll see a new (one of many) 'special' folder called Taskbar pinned in your Users folder - the path is C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Taskbar Pinned (which I just copied from that program) - that should give you some idea on what to look for and where to look.

IOW, it ain't registry - it's shortcuts placed in that folder's subfolder named TaskBar...

yes it is there (meaning other apps) but the thing is that its not there (computer, libraries)
im thinking were going on the realm of symbolic links....
if any can correct me plz do so....
and i hope someone does because the only way to remove that (since its not a shorcut....) is either reinstall, go back from system restore (unlikely though since i think this is label as user created.... again correct if im wrong) or delete the symbolic link and recreate it somehow... (i just thought of modifying the link somehow.... making not have a link there....)
imma see and do some research on this....
but yes im hoping someone proves me wrong....

That would not surprise me at all. It is about high time that Windows started using SLs and stopped using the whole shortcut thing....

SLs, Hardlinks and Junctions - life would suck without them.

there you go i was thinking of junctions....lol
couldn't remember that one
i think this is combination of the two
but even though it good for the windows community it should also come with a delete button...
so i guess imma have the pictures icon unless i either destroy the junction and SL (im thinking this more of junction but im still learning...lol)
or reinstall Windows 7 (which is a nono since i bearly got it usuable today and i would be without my study guide.... seeing as all my notes are there.. just the thought makes me go)

Heh - I feel ya on the need for the machine - it's why Windows 7 went on a separate drive until I felt reasonably sure it was stable enough for me to move to the bigger, better, faster HD....

I still have Vista as an OS installed and so I constantly switch - browsing and such I do in Windows 7, and homework in Vista....
