Ready? 1,2,3 - BOO!

I'm not really enamoured with this build. Most of what's enabled by default was unlockable in 6801 anyway. Then again I haven't spent too much time in it, I don't see the point in tweaking something I'm going to have remove shortly anyway. Too bad I didn't bother backing up 6801. Ah well

I know what you mean, I have gone back to the 6801 build its 64bit and and runs more stable and has all the main features that are in the new build. Plus it's activated with out the need for stupid hacks, that result in problems with messages telling you it's not genuine and it can see all my memory. So what if it doesn't install all of my drivers, IMO it still beats that hack of a OS.

EDIT: It's not that bad to try but I am not a fan of 32bit anymore, anyway I hope they bring out the Beta in 64bit or I wont be happy.

Windows 7 Build 7077 x64

Hehe, so much disdain for 6956. I guess I'll shine some positivity, no offense to anyone else.

Performance wise has only been an increase for my laptop, with the exception of boot times. I'm sure its an isolated issue, however, as most people seem to be reporting faster boot times. Either way, my boot time is just about the same as 6801 right now, and even quicker is I disable GUI boot.

The start menu's new features with recently used links or files of a program, also comes very much in handy for me as I tend to edit so many files. Same goes for jumplists, although those were activatable in 6801. I think the look of the taskbar is more refined weather you are using large or small icons(the icon "tiles" are now wider, allowing you to see more of that pretty lighting effect when you mouse over an item).

This build also resolves lots of small issues I had with certain programs, such as chrome not saving any history or bookmarks. Desktop slideshow is less glitchy when I try to select images(I had probs with that in the previous build). Shutdown speed is quicker, aero peformance seems to be smoother. Performance overall was palpably smoother for me. Rendering times and performance in Sony Vegas(video editing program) are also improved for me.

I don't know about you guys, but aero peek really is a blessing of an aesthetic feature for me. Personally, I've never been too big on keyboard shortcuts. Usually nothing more than the basics, I prefer using the mouse and mouse gestures. Maybe its from playing FPS games for too long and just preferring to point at things lol. But yea, aero peek is probably my favorite feature of windows 7 right now. It just comes so much in handy when im browsing the web or using image editing software, to just mouseover the thumbnail preview to quickly get a view of a particular window, usually an IM convo for me. Same goes for desktop preview, if I'm cheking a feed on a gadget or want to quickly see the weather. And it looks real cool too =P When I'm using Chrome or Opera, I mouse over tabs looking for thumbnails i can click on, thats how much I've grown accustomed to the feature.

Overall its just easily the superior build for me in most every aspect, although its a shame it seems to be so glitchy in some instances for other people . Hopefully beta will resolve that.

well im in the middle...
being able to run x32 with loss of ram and at the same time having all my drivers working (though my mic is working better than before and i needed that... (for lectures)before every time it would squeal (you know when i mic is to close to a speaker... magnetics....lol) so it is great for me even though the gadgets werent working (which i forced myself to solve thanks to a thought of how it was enabled in also Windows Server 08....) and for the quick launch we have both brink and i forgot if it you john nigel or someone im missing.. (if you know plz tell me i will modify the post to give credit...)

other than the gadgets that was my only loss and now i dont have any...
(remember this can be used until the reg beta come...)
something even tell me that MS let him go (you know that guy that got it downloaded....) so it would statisfy us the and still go on with the hype that Windows 7 is this great os (which is mostly tru since i can run it smoothly on 1gb in a vm (toned down superfetch...lol) i was just thinking that as i am writing this post from 6956....
just my thoughts....

I do agree that allot of thing have been improved but I feel more comfortable with a unmodified build knowing that there are no hidden programs or spyware that might have shipped with this rebuild, it was from china after all and I have herd that there is allot of that going on there.

I do not trust the 6956 at all, no offense to anyone from China, but I don't like using OS's that were ripped out of a system and mashed all back together with old parts and converted to other file types and junk!

I will stick with 6936 for now as at least that is x64 ... My Core i7 would cry if I tried to install a 32bit OS on it ... so would all the RAM I would be flushing down the toilet!
