| | Webplodder, which edition of Windows 7 are you running and where are you trying to back up to? The reason I am asking is that the Starter, Home Basic and Home Premium editions do not allow you to backup to a network. |

Ok, I changed Volume Shadow Copy service from manual to automatic and it seems to have done the trick SIW2, looks like this was the problem.
