I am on Window 7 RC. My screen freeze too. I had downloaded and installed the lastest video driver[Driver Version: 185.85] from EVGA website: http://www.evga.com/support/drivers/...t.asp?switch=2. Last night, I disabled my EVGA e-GeForce 7200 GS video card and the system did not freeze any more.
One thing to remember with laptops (regardless of OS) is NEVER install the Nvidia drivers, or any from a third party for that matter. Manufacturers make thier own tweaks and changes so that they are fully compatible so always get the driver from them. A lot of manufacturer software doesn't work properly without the manufacturer drivers either (Acer Arcade - thier Blu Ray software, for one) FYI The latest stable Acer drivers are 176.26.
Hi All
I have had big problems with Windows 7 RC. It was working fine for about a month, then all of a sudden it started freezing on login, the desktop, and shutdown. When I boot into safemode it works fine. If I boot normally the laptop mouse and keyboard will freeze on the login screen and desktop and when I shut down the screen goes blank for about 10-15 mins. I plugged in a USB keyboard and this seems to work ok. I have checked the drivers and they are up to date and working ok. I have also re-installed the RC but it was very slow installing and now is exactly the same.
Laptop details:
Processor: AMD Turion64 x2 TL-50 (1.6 GHz, 512 KB L2 cache total, 256 KB on each core)
RAM: 2 GB 533 MHz DDR2 RAM (2 x 1024 MB)
Hard Drive: 80 GB Hitachi 5400 RPM HD
Please help!!

I uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player and then re-installed it a few days later and it's working fine now. I can't remember for sure but I believe Adobe finally came out for a fix for this or I just used the Vista 64 version they offered.
Whichever, it's running fine now.
Now I've got a printer and GPU issue, both were working fine before the Windows 7 Critical Update for 9/2/09 .
