Ok pebbly I need to take this step by step because I'm very confused.

I downloaded the update you just provided and it's now in WinZip.

    What do I do now?

ok webplodder ,depending on which version of the OS you are using right click on the rt86win7.inf [for 32bit] or the rt64win7.inf [for 64bit] file and select install , then go to device manager select the network adaptor ,right click on it and select "update driver" , if you dont feel confident doing it this way i will try to find a driver with a setup.exe file for you

Hi Pebbly will it matter that the driver with the exe file is an older version to the previous download that you found?

that is a good question mitchell i could not find a version 7.018 with an executable file so had to look for a v7.017 ,the version update may only be for newer ethernet cards so to be honest i really dont know
