Windows 7 Ultimate Explorer ICON

Can anyone help me. Just started using Windows 7 Ultimate. I see the Windows 7 Explorer ICON with a blue handle at the bottom of the ICON. Does this mean my files are being shared with everyone? If so, how can I stop sharing files and folders?

If you are referring to the "curly" blue arrow, all that indicates is that you are looking at a shortcut to the file.

Hello Fame, and welcome to Seven Forums.

I believe he's referring to this left icon below instead.

Fame, your answer is that it's just the new Windows Explorer icon (left) in Windows 7 instead of the old one from Vista and XP (right). The blue handle is a folder holder, and does not indicate that you are sharing them.

Hope this helps,

Thank you for your answer concerning the blue handle being the folder handle. The blow up of the icon makes it easy to see.
