printing from Windows-7 (selecting 1 page or 2-page in

Somehow in Windows XP I was able to create two instances of the same USB connected printer. One instance - set as default (named Canon IP1700 single-page) to print 1 page per sheet and another instance (named Canon IP1700 2-in-1) to print 2-pages per sheet (not both sides) to save on paper. In Windows-7 there doesn't seem to be a way to do this. I have to manually go into my printers settings every time I print to verify or change these settings.
Does anyone know how to define two seperate printers in Windows-7 that point to the same physical printer with just different print settings?
Thanks
