Open downloaded docs and pics on Win 7 I am trying to open documents that I receive from vendors that have photos and text on them. The system first brings up scanners and cameras page with nothing in it. The if I try to choose open with... I can not seem to find a program to open them. Do you have any ideas?
Thanks

You need to have a program to open them with. Do you have Windows Office?
If you don't you can download OpenOffice http://download.openoffice.org/
Be sure to un-check any extras they have bundled with it ...like Yahoo Browser, etc. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Bruce ... somewhere in his 40's OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 MHz Motherboard INTEL/D975XBX2 Memory 4 GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 914v Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Microsoft PS/2 Mouse PSU Rocketfish 700 W Case G.Skill Gigabyte Chassis Hard Drives 2/500GB each ... .jpeg should open with any photo program like Photo gallery, Faststone picture viewer and alike
.pdf should open with Adobe or Foxit
I suggest you have a look into your file associations table and check which programs are associated with these filetypes. If necessary, change it.
If that is not something you want to do, download these 2 programs and they will automatically set the associations: Foxit Reader - Download FastStone Image Viewer - Powerful and Intuitive Photo Viewer, Editor and Batch Converter | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 Open downloaded docs and pics on Win 7 problems?
