Start button missing icon, menu appears behind programs

    Just completed. There were some files that were moved around, and I am rebooting now. I will see if the issue returns, thanks for the suggestion.

    If that is the case then, you might wanna check your hosts file, or your local DNS. All it is a an embedded youtube video.

    Mine are all okay ... I'm using IE 8 and it just looked wierd to see a line up of other videos on yours

    sfc /scannow did not fix the issue, it returned somewhat. The icon is still missing, but the menu is appearing on top now.

    You may have to run it more than once if there are too many to fix at once.

    If you've done this already and the scan results come back with "did not find any integrity violations", then you may want to try a Repair Install ,

    you wont lose anything but as with any repair task, you should back up all your data should something go awry.
