Windows 7: screen lock not working with softphone

i am a network administrator. we just purchased the new lenova all in one pc's called a70z model. Our company requires the screen to lock after a few minutes to protect the sensitive information that we collect all day. Were are using plantronics softphone headsets and whenever we plug them into the computer it will not allow either the screen saver to come on or simply to lock the comupter at all. If anyone has any information on this maybe theres a secret setting for it to override the headset i really need to know.
