    missing msvcr71.dll

Just received my brand new Acer Aspire One netbook with Windows 7 (32 bit). Started it up...download an app CRON-O-Meter, which I ran on Win XP for about 4 years with no problems. When I try to run the CRON-O-Meter app (Java based) an error dialog box appears telling me that the MSVCR71.dll is missing. Then I downloaded and install latest Java. Try to run it again and keep getting the same error/missing file message.

Seems everywhere I go on the net to try to find this file to download, someone wants to sale you the latest and greatest app along with the missing DLL file. Can the dll file be copied from XP and placed into the Win7/System32 file?

Any help would be wonderful at this point. Thinking I may just uninstall Win7 go back to Vista or XP.

    Thanks!

First try putting this DLL in the application directory, not Windows/system32. The application in question was suppose to redistribute "msvcr71.dll" and use the one in its application directory.
