    Windows 7 Ram usage???

I was wondering what everybody else was getting in their ram usage for windows 7. Im getting 1.08 RAM in use with nothing running. This seems like a lot doesnt it? I think Vista 32 bit uses about the same for me. Its important to note that i have installed a few apps and all my hardware drivers too.

Im also running the 64 bit version if thats important.

So you're saying W7 x64 uses the same memory as Vista x86. Hmm.

    DaRonRon,

Win 7 uses less RAM then all previous versions of windows.
This is done mainly by not turning on system programs until they are needed. :)

ok. I'm currently using 48% of 4 GB.
I'm playing some music through Winamp, browsing this forum, running core temp and EVGA precision plus Avast in the background.
So that's just under 2 GB.
Seems a lot and I think it's not much better that Vista 64 in this respect.

    best wishes, John

    ps I'm on W7 7100 x64

And the use of wddm 1.1 drivers when you have more than one window open etc.

On W7-64 with only Firefox and sysinfo running, sysinfo reports I'm committing 1.26GB the 8GB of physical RAM available.

Ah. Do you think I should be worried about this?

I just looked in Task manager under performance and it tells me I'm using 1.92 GB running 66 processes.

    Cheers, John
