    Cannot log onto guest account

    Hello!

When I log onto the guest account on my laptop, a window pops up and it says "guest/account/desktop inaccessible." The desktop is blank (all black) and there are no icons. You basically can't do anything on my guest account (like go on the internet, microsoft word, etc.) My main administrator account seems fine to me. I think. I don't know what's wrong!

    Please help!

Hello. Thanks for the reply Ztruker. Your url link doesn't work. Also, I've read the Guest Account - Turn On or Off section already and I've tried it many times. But it doesn't work. My Guest account is still inaccessible.

Hello May4nn, welcome to Seven Forums!

Maybe a malware scan is in order, install the free version from the link below and run a full scan and be sure to post back with the outcome.

My apologies. I don't know where that link came from. I fixed it so it points to the right place now.

What version of Windows 7 are you using, Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate? I just tried in on my Pro system and it worked as expected. I followed the tutorial by Brink in the (corrected) Link I posted.

Did you try creating a second guest account and checking whether you can logon?

Yes, I would try this as well. Could be a corrupt user account.

    Create a new account

If your guest account is not working the account may be corrupt, in this case you can create a new account and remove the old account.
