    Welcome!

Are you referring to the watermark? Legitimate versions of Windows shouldn't have that. Be sure you are not using a Torrented copy, and don't use the leaked service pack.

Well, Evaluation versions of Win7 also have a watermark.

Click on Start button, then type "Winver" without quotes in the Run or Search box. Post a screenshot of the popup here.

If you are using a pirated version of windows, then in addition to the watermark, your wallpaper would have disappeared and replaced by a plain, black desktop. In that case please buy a genuine copy.

For evaluation versions, I believe there is a hack to remove the watermark, though it may cause compatibility mode and other problems.

Here you go: Ultimate Windows Tweaker, a TweakUI for Windows 7 & Vista | The Windows Club

Download that, and uncheck "Show Windows Version on Desktop".

Open regedit and navigate to the following key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\PaintDesktopVersion

Double click on PaintDesktopVersion in the RHS and in the box that appears, change the value from 1 to 0.
    Restart.

Sorry but the link was broken or may be busy. It said:

    Network Error (tcp_error)

A communication error occurred: "Operation timed out"
The Web Server may be down, too busy, or experiencing other problems preventing it from responding to requests. You may wish to try again at a later time.
