Favorites in Explorer Window not working

I know that this has been posted on many times before on these forums, as I just searched for a solution to the program. I went through several pages of information on how to fix my problem and tried everything that I have found thus far.

These are the steps I've taken to try to correct this problem thus far:

    1) Right click on "Favorites" in the left explorer pane, and clicked "Restore Favorite Links"

    2) Tried dragging a backed up copy (from a previous installation) to :
    - Shell:UsersFileFolder
    - C:/Users/Username

    3) Tried creating a new folder named "Links" and adding the links in from there

    4) Checked that the registry location HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile has a String entry named IsShortcut. It was never deleted and is still there.

    5) Applied the lnk registry file from this tutorial: Default File Type Associations - Restore

    6) Correctly followed the tutorial here: Favorites - Add or Remove from Navigation Pane. The registry values were still set to the correct default values for both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.

    7) Also tried dragging the contents of the afore mentioned backup directly into the Favorites menu, and pasting is not allowed.

I am currently running Windows 7 Ultimate x64. If any other information is needed, please let know. I know that I can access my desktop and "downloads" folders through other means, but I have grown used to using the favorites menu for more than just these two folders.

Thank you to any who might be able to lend a hand.

It may help, if you have an idea on the cause or what you did prior to the problem

I have a feeling it might have been the CCleaner Registry Cleaner. But, I don't remember running the registry cleaner since I've just reinstalled within the past week.

If that is the case it may be registry problems. Try a system restore from a point that is at least two or three days before the problem could have started.

Only problem with that is I do not keep system restore turned on after I have all my programs installed. I am using SSD's and I don't want system restore writing to them.

Try another browser. Firefox or Chrome are very good choices.

This is not a browser issue. I am not referring to: favorites = bookmarks.

I am speaking of the navigation pane on the left hand side of an Explorer window (not IE).

    @Kucing13,

I have never had CCleaner do something like this before, and frankly, I'm not even sure it was CCleaner. I haven't used it all day, and it was working earlier this morning. All I have done is browse the Internet today, and have not messed with any files other than those mentioned to try to correct the problem.

Go to search, type the letters cmd. When cmd comes up do not hit enter, run as adminisrator

    In cmd type sfc /scannow

If that does not work, we will try a repair install.

Here is what appeared in the command prompt window:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
Added the CBS.log file as an attachment to this post.
