Taskbar Thumbnail - Are You Kidding Me?

Is there REALLY no way to disable the taskbar thumbnail?
I personally do prefer having it disabled.

I do not understand why they would take away freedom ...

    If I understand you correctly...

You can alter how your icons are displayed in the taskbar (now called the "Notification Area") by selecting 'Customize' in the ^ next to the clock. Does that help?

now i'm not talking about the notification area.

the taskbar thumbnails are the tabs on the taskbar; for example when you open up google chrome, and you hover over the tab there's always a little preview/thumbnail.

    Hello Newly,

Sorry, but as in the other thread, the option to turn off the taskbar thumbnail previews is no longer an option in Windows 7.

You could always display the classic theme, that way it will disable thumbnail view. I like it myself and think it's a neat little touch.

well, yeah i read that but i like the aero design, thats not a real solution for me.

anyway, i will probably roll back to build 7000, and reinstall the RC when there is a solution for that. its still good till june and july.

Why is it that bothersome? You could always change the delay to like 99999999 through the registry.

    Hello DaRonRon,

Sorry, but no. It's for the pop-up preview window when you hover the mouse pointer over a pinned taskbar icon instead. :)
