Windows 7 Taskbar refusing to go transparent

Hi, I'm running windows 7 ultimate (RC Build 7227) and i'm having a lot of trouble trying to change the color/transparency of my taskbar. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me out as I find this solid greyish colored taskbar to be very ugly. i would prefer a more transparent black.
    My system Specs are:
    IBM Thinkpad R52
    Intel Pentium M 1.73GHz
Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset (Graphics)
    Intel Centrino (Motherboard)
14.1" LCD Notebook Display (dont know what brand)
    512Mb RAM
1.00Gb Page File (if that helps)
    40Gb HDD
heres a screen of my prob

    Hi and welcome.

I had a quick look about and from what I can see, I don't think that your mobile Intel 915GM graphics support "Aero Themes" which unfortunately means you won't be able use the transparent taskbar.

Although there are 3rd party apps out there that you can load to achieve a transparent task bar

Please note that win7 release candidate will cease to function on 1 June 2010 so I would suggest that you back-up all data and install an alternative OS prior to this (Next Tuesday)

Pal if you read the posts above the least of your worries is a BSOD. If you don't do something about your Release candidate OS you might not have a working PC after next Tuesday.

actually, i am unsure of whether my copy of win7 is actually an RC becaue microsoft states that you get notifications about it once a day in the taskbar(i havent had anything of the kind). and anyway if it is, i still have XP to work with.
(but just to be sure, where can i find out if it is an RC or RTM?)

Type "winver" into the Start Search bar to confirm the release of windows you are running

at the moment to give myself a little more time, i have set the date to 2009 but i was wondering if there is possibly a way around this whole evaluation thing to make it sort-of like an RTM but just so it doesnt expire. i also have a screen of my winver here if that helps.

There is no legal way to do this and we do not discuss or support illegal operating systems, or other software, on Sevenforums.
