    Mid 2009? Mission Impossible v2009

I have been hearing all over the net that it has been confirmed that Windows 7 will be released in mid 2009. Is it really possible? Why so soon all of a sudden after it took Vista so long to create? I want 7 but I don't want to get my hopes up. It looks like a cool OS. I hope it doesn't have all those confirmation pop ups. I want to use Windows smoothly. What do you guys think?

Hello unisol, welcome to Se7en Forums!

From my experience so far; Windows 7 could very well be ready by mid 2009. The bits I've used so far are very stable and the only problems I've had is an occasional IE8 lock up. (that's a pita)

Have a look at the thread; at the link below.

I just hope companies are furiously writing drivers as we speak...

It's good to see people confident in a Windows 7, 2009 release. I can't wait to dump Vista once and for all. It has messed up my system and my sister's system. I used to wonder why people hated it but I understand now. Needless to say, Vista has "issues." I want things to work well, not full of bugs and errors. I also want to run Blu-Ray burners on my system and have it work effectively. I hope Seven can be released with WMP next version. Can't wait for that. If anyone knows when the real WMP 12 or so player is released, let me know.

You should realize, unisol, that W7 is built on Vista - at least for now it is. So, expecting it to *not* mess up your system is pretty far fetched - considering that I manage 2 labs at school running Vista, and have been using Vista at home, and the only time I had *anything* mess up was when I replaced me mobo with a different one and expected Vista to play nice.

Can you detail exactly what Vista did to your system(s)?
