Help How do I unlock a User Account

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. There are 2 User Accounts, both Administrator and neither has a password. Everything has been working perfectly for 5 months. This morning when the second user logged in the screen was locked. They were unable to do anything even turn off the computer. The pointer was frozen.

The other user is having no problems at all. Can the other user who is also an administrator fix this problem? I would very much appreciate any help you can offer.

Yes - I would really appreciate any help :)

I should also add that I tried the Tute from Brink but I did not have a `Local Users and Groups Manager' available to me. That heading didn't exist on the menu.

    Welcome

What happens if the user with the problem logs on in safe mode?

OK Good, now we need to find out specifically what causes the problem

Try this exactly as written. Then tell me the exact results. We will get this solved.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

If after you do the clean boot the problem still exits, you can end the test and just report back to me

OK so I tried this and then got stuck when after clicking the `Services' Tab there was no `hide all Microsoft services' on the list. So..... I decided to go back to the drawing board and think laterally.

I created a third user with a similar name to User 2 who was locked. I then set up User 3 with the Email a/c from User 2. (Windows Live Mail) Essentially I morphed User 2 into User 3. I then deleted User 2. He did lose his bookmarks but as he didn't have many this was no biggie. So far this is working well with no probs. I have no idea what caused the `frozen pointer' for User 2. I just hope it doesn't happen again.

So now I have built some new synapses in my brain I am free to go on with my own stuff. Thanks so much for your help and fast response
