Where do you use laptop on battery? I realize that I'm in the minority here but I've personally never understood why people put so much emphasis on battery life in a laptop. I've owned about a dozen laptops over the years and probably only used all of them put together on battery for about 10 hours total. I can't think of anywhere I would take my laptop that there isn't a plug nearby and, if there's a plug, I will use it rather than the battery. When traveling in my RV, I use an inverter and on a plane, I use an adapter for power.
Anybody else out there feel the way I do? | My System Specs |

Then you know the battery is full discharged. When Windows shuts down through lack of battery power it will still have about 8% charge left. It never goes down completely. | My System Specs | | OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz Motherboard ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. Back in coach we don't get power outlets, so the only place I use the battery is on a plane. | My System Specs

my laptop has wireless networking, so i don't need to plug it in to a router to get online.
my laptop also has a battery, so i don't need to plug it in to the wall to get power.
having a laptop without a battery is a bit like having a mobile phone permanently plugged into the charger.
also i often travel across the country by train, and sadly in the uk, the power sockets aren't always on, nor easily accessible. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number mickey megabyte 1234 OS ultimate 64 sp1 CPU i5 2500K 3.3@4.2GHz Motherboard MSI P67A-GD53 Memory 8 gigs GSkill Ripjaws 1600 Graphics Card amd hd6950 Sound Card creative x-fi gamer Monitor(s) Displays samsung 24" Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard saitek eclipse ii Mouse logitech g3 PSU antec 550 Case antec three hundred Cooling i'm a cooling fan Hard Drives ocz vertex 2e 60 gig, samsung f3 1tb, buffalo 2tb ext Internet Speed about 4 Mbps Other Info i love win7 |

I have a docking station at work for my laptop and I have to take it home with me every night in case I have to login remotely. I always run on battery at home at night. My Dell E6400 usually lasts a solid 5+ hours on battery....so that handles everything I need at home during the evenings. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

College campus. Classrooms don't always have power outlets, and if they do, they are not conveniently placed. Also, a big power cord is a pain to lug around all day in a backpack full of books. Two-hour battery life turns out to be pretty useless... | My System Specs

I use the battery when I am too lazy to plug it in when just checking email. If I ever need battery life for any reason I will pick up a $150 to $200 netbook. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba L505 OS Windows 7 64x CPU AMD Turion II Dual-Core Mobile M520 2.30 GHz Memory 4GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4200 Where do you use laptop on battery? problems?
