    Moving icons

Hi just got a new laptop with windows 7 and I place my icons where I want them on the desktop but every time I reboot they all move in line on the left.
Is there a way to stop this.
    Thanks for any advice.

If you right click your desktop you should be able to go into Icon arrangement settings and disable the auto arrange feature. There are many different things you can set your icons to do, and I've found that sometimes one of these settings will be on and it messes with the way you want it.

Checked all that and auto arrange and align to grid are both off.

Windows is designed to save those alignments upon a valid shutdown/restart, but running applications, improper shutdowns, and random glitches can prevent it from doing so. Try this workaround.
