setting up new account- moving files/data...

I finally gave up(see long thread in security section) and just added another administrator on my pc. I have closed IE multiple times on this account and don't have the dreaded message about search providers, corrupted, etc. etc.

So, as I searched the internet, couldn't find exactly what I was looking for and thought I would try here:

Of course, all my files- music, itunes, pics, etc, are all on the original, corrupt adminis. account. What is the easiest way for me to transfer these files to the new account? Everything I have is backed up- is this the easiest way to go? I am a noob at all this stuff- simplier the better.
    Thank you!!

The problem with importing is that you may imort the problem as well. I suggest you only import (or transfer) the data (itunes, etc)

    Welcome

If you are backed up use that to move to your new account. If you try to transfer from the other account, you may get the corruption again. Good luck

Ok, will transfer just my music, pics, etc. I have all of this backed up on an external HD. Is there anything else I need to look for-to avoid just transferring the corrupt file? This entire situation has been painful. I even tried donloading Firefox and Safari, both would work for a few minutes then close. UGHHHHHH

    Thank U for your time!

What I would do is make a system restore point before starting, maybe even a system image. Then transfer a few at a time, use it and make sure that it is working correctly. If it is, transfer a few more. Keep track of what you are transferring. If you encounter a problem, use system restore, go back to good times, transfer the files that are good, and then a few more at a time, until you are done.
