Anyway to delay start-up program by 20 sec or more? Hi,
I am using Rainlendar pro and it has direct sync with google calendar. It auto-stars when I start the pc. The problem is my desktop ethernet connection is not connected yet when the program starts, resulting in an annoying message everytime it starts saying it can't sync. I noticed that if I just closed the program and open it manually it works without the errors.
So, it could be the case of just a delay startup so that the connection is in place for the software to communicate. Any ideas how to delay start the program?
Thanks | My System Specs |

Microsoft has a tutorial on this using regedit How to delay loading of specific services
other than that ,when the rainlendar starts, you can go to run, type services.msc. Search for Rainlendar service>right click>properties and you can set the startup to automatic(delay) | My System Specs | | OS window's 7 CPU core 2 quad Motherboard gigabyte Memory 2gb corsair Graphics Card ati hd4850 Monitor(s) Displays lg Screen Resolution 1600 X 900 Case power logic Other Info none of the spec above is accurate |

On XP I used a program called Startup Delayer. This allowed me to let my AV and firewall load 1st, then spread out the rest of my startup apps to allow them to open before the next started. Worked quite well. Right now on the site it says he is completely rewriting for Windows 7, so that isn't for you just yet, but keep an eye on it: Startup Delayer
A few days ago I posted in the reboot speed thread a new program that I did try, but deleted after because I didn't need it, but it should allow you to delay the program, not sure by how much though: Saluto
Watch the video. It's new so doesn't yet have recommendations on some major software, so we'll have to see how it develops.

Saluto looks a lot like some spyware. Last thing I need is a software broadcasting everywhere.
Hopefully that startup delayer does come out. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 64 bit Pro Sound Card On board Monitor(s) Displays Dual Monitor: Dell U2311H 23" monitor, LG M227WD Screen Resolution 1920x1080x2 (landscape) Keyboard Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 Mouse Logitech M 705 Internet Speed 25mb/1mb Other Info Printer: HP F4180

Give autoruns a try, I bet that solves the problem. If not I bet rainlander is under a different name or it starts when another service starts Autoruns for Windows | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

Hopefully that startup delayer does come out. Um, ok. I don't let anything call out I don't want to. If I used it for the purpose you want, I'd just have my firewall refuse to let it call out. The calling out is so the "community" can teach what programs do what, etc. There are many programs like that. I always opted out as I want to control what calls home.
