The "LOCK" feature found at the Shut down Button

New to Windows 7 and have somehow locked the "Lock" feature at the Shut down button. PLEASE - I need to get this "Unset" so that it won't continue to flip to "Locked".

This is a Lenovo Laptop T510 running Win7 64-bit Pro.

On XP I was pretty knowledgeable; on W7 I know nothing at this stage!

right-click on the Start orb, select "Properties".
Power button action: (change from Lock to something else)
    OK

    Power Button - Start Menu

W7 Pro 64-bit computer goes to lock; how to stop it.

Thanks for the help but that didn't work. I clicked on Properties at the Start Orb and at the Start Menu tab, the power button action was set to Shut Down. My options are to Shut down, Switch user, Log off, Lock, Restart, Sleep, Hibernate; none of these seem to me to stop causing the computer to switch to a Locked start up screen which then will let me "Switch User".

I checked the setting on my other W7 computer under Start Orb, Properties, Start Tab and it is set identically to how the Laptop that is flipping back to Switch User and Locked is set.

Why is the Laptop continually flipping to Switch User? Could whatever setting that is causing this have something to do with the "Locked" status?

Assuming that you have a screen saver set - right click the desktop and select screen saver.

on the options screen there should be an option "on resume show login screen" make sure this is not checked.

Didn't work Barman. I think this might have something to do with the Fast User Switch feature which apparently is turned on - but I don't know how/where to turn it off.

Have a look here for options for controlling the fast user switching - which you say is at the root of this issue ....

Hopefully one of the options here will solve your issue
