Windows 7 Aero and wireless connectivity problems.

    Hey everyone,

I have literally no idea what is causing the problems, but whenever I boot up, aero and my wireless connection keep crashing for the first 10-15 minutes or so.
After boot up and the desktop comes into view I can see the small white bars icon on the taskbar that indicates that I'm connected to the net, and that windows 7 aero is on (glass effect etc), but around 10 seconds afterwards the theme reverts to windows 7 basic and my wireless icon has a red cross on it.
Right clicking the wireless icon and diagnosing the problem brings up 'windows wireless service is not running on this computer' and that the diagnosis has solved the problem. After another few seconds it disconnects again, and I have to repeat the diagnosis several times to get it to 'stick'. Aero eventually returns to normal on its own after around 15 minutes.
It's very intermittent but persistent; I thought the problem had gone after 2 days of it not happening, but today it came back

    I'm using

    Windows 7 64-bit
    D-Link DWA-556 Xtreme PCIe 802.11n Wifi adapter
    I7 860
    Western Digital caviar 400GB
    2GB VData DDR3-1333Mhz
    Asrock H55M Motherboard
    Nvidia GT220 1GB

    Any help much appreciated!

    Hi

    Welcome to Seven Forums :)
Are you running the wireless adapter under compatibility mode?
As per the attachment - the adapter appears to be limited to 32-bit platforms while you are running x64.
Try the following tutorial to install the drivers from the CD

    Keep us posted
