Is that a trick question? Nothing has changed since about one month before I started having the problem, except for windows Updates if that is what you mean.

Something has changed that much is obvious. I am going to ask the obvious question, do you have a back from before the problem started?
Excellent Point! We may have gone off track! Thanks for helping us.

I don't have access to a DVD drive anymore. I do however have the Windows 7 x64 files copied onto my C drive from before. Is it possible to do the repair this way?

Um... Try it I guess. I think you are going to NEED a DVD drive. If it broke, you should get a new one.

Floppies may not be needed anymore, but DVDs sure are.

Though I guess you could try this:

also do a check disk.. start > cmd (right click run as administrator) > type chkdsk.exe /r > type y when it asks if you want to schedule a check at next startup > type exit > restart.
Replace your hdd if you get any bad clusters. You can use another computer to load the windows install disk into a flash drive while the chkdsk is running. there's a tutorial on how to do that somewhere (a little help finding it).. and reinstall or repair windows using a flash drive instead of the dvd takes less than half as long, probably because a flash drive can be read 3-10x faster than a dvd

It is not a hard drive error itself, but a file error. Like it is missing files or system integrity.
It does also check for bad sectors, but in this case, I think it would skip it.
CHKDSK - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On a more general note, YES SSDs can have errors.
