This has just started recently, very annoying when it happens, probably once every 3 days. How can I fix it? Nothing has really changed at all it just started happening out of the blue, any ideas?

I am running

Windows 7 x64
AMD Athlon II X3 425
4 GB DDR 2 800Mhz
1.5TB WD Green
30 GB OCZ SSD Vertex
Asus M3A78-EM

Welcome,
Next time it happens, go to search, type event viewer and take down the errors. Do that 3 more times and make note of the common errors.

I turn off the keyboard and mouse for sleep (Wake on KB/Mouse). I have to because I use my desk for paper work as well.

It does come out of sleep, to a blank screen, and then I have to restart the computer in order to have everything up and running again. Sorry if I wasn't clear about that earlier.

I really wish people wouldn't backtrack and edit their posts and add new info, very easy to miss and I don't see why you can't just make a new post.

Too bad this forum doesn't have a changed edits line like other forums.

There's a hotfix specifically for sleep issues with some computers. I had to download it for a lenovo recently. You can get it from microsoft here

I don't have this specific error (or any error at all, it just comes up as a blank screen because my monitor doesn't even have a display signal after it comes out from sleep).

I must be blind... I can't find the download button in your link...

~Lordbob

Is that a trick question? Nothing has changed since about one month before I started having the problem, except for windows Updates if that is what you mean.

Have you installed a new program, updated Windows (or anything else), have you removed anything, any new hardware, etc.

Just Windows Updates before the change below.

I just finished installing the new ATI Catalyst drivers.

Do you have hybrid sleep on or off?
Have you tried removing any recent updates?

I will give this a shot, how do I go about disabling this? I have never had problems with ATI drivers before. I doubt they are the cause of this problem that just came out of the blue when it started.
