    MSIEXEC trouble

I have done an exhaustive search here and other sites looking for a similar issue as mine with nothing to show..

When I install a software package that uses MSIEXEC, programs either stops short of the full installation asking for a CD and or file that doesn't exist.
Another problem is the software does a full installation. Then executing the program for the first and all times after starts the installation procedure but yet again.
    At the least very annoying.
    Please help!
    Thanks you

Hello Jeff !! Welcome to SF !!

MSIEXEC is actually a Windows Installer service. So it's common for alll the installler files to use Windows Installer. In your case i suspect it might be a bad disk or a download so try with a different disk or a download and see if that fixes the issue. Make sure to clean up the left over entries of the pervious install like delete the folder from Program Files run CCleaner program and clear the Temp files and reboot and do the install

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Neighbor!

Actually the failure happens with downloaded proggies using MSIEXEC.
The installer asks for a non-existent or non-related CD or hard drive file that doesn't exist.
Did when I tried an online download and install Office 10 Beta. It would start the installation then make strange requests. I still haven't tried Office 10 . Of course the Beta program has ended. (Murphy's Law)
I already ran CCleaner, Windows Installer clean up app. and East-Tec Eraser looking for funny things.
I'm usually pretty decent at ironing out Windows problems. This one has me stumped.
    Thanks for your reply
    Jeff
