Turn Windows Features On and Off Question

Hello all, I'm new to Seven Forums and I have a question. I have been trying to install .net ver.4, but the error says it is installed but not turned on. So I google turn on .net 4 and I get to turn Windows features On and Off. Which brings me back to an issue I noticed. Every time I see screen shots of the features screen, it is a long list of many features, but mine is almost bare:

Mind this is an OEM version installed by my system builder, but I'm wondering where are all my options?

I have disabled some services per the Black Viper list, but I can't think that would remove any or all of the missing items? Any ideas?

The 1st shot is what mine looks like. The 2nd is from this forums tute on windows features. That''s why I ask. Mine doesn't look anything like yours. That is the entire content of that window, expanded. A Guy

That's strange, mine is an OEM copy too but I bought it from zipzoomfly.

Sorry, I don't know why yours is so empty.

That is very odd. All I can think is that maybe your OEM turned off some options before they pressed the discs...

Hello Bill !!

Maybe the scroll bar is just missing !! Switch back to default theme and see if you show the entire list. Try with a different User Profile. Check this article it's some what related ... i guess The "Windows Features" dialog box is empty in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, or you receive an error message that includes the following code when you try to use Windows Update: "0x80073712"

Hope this helps,
Captain

I'm going to assume the image that was used had stuff ripped out like vlite did for Vista. If that is the case you will need to rinstall a version that has not be....tampered with.

Maybe you did short installation - have you tried putting the Win 7 DVD in see if you get more options
