Windows 7: 2 oprating systems??

2 oprating systems??

i am considering having two operating systems on my comp, i have windows xp, and i want windows & as well, but not sure weather i should go with it???
i am thinking about creating another partition then installing it on that
1.is it a goo idea???
2. what is the easiest way about it??
my system specs are:

intel(R) Core(TM) 2 duo CPU E8500 @ 3.16GHz
3.00GB of ram
512mb graphics card
350GB hard drive

I used this tutorial setting up my dual boot configuration.
Dual Boot Installation with Windows 7 and XP

If you don't have a floppy drive to load your SATA drivers during installation of XP you'll need this tutorial as well.

i wont be installing XP only windows 7, so i wont be needing the SATA drivers????

I despise dual boot systems, given the ease of rendering both inoperable. My suggestion would be to backup your XP install to an image, and then download the 90 day trial of Windows 7 Enterprise, if you don't have any Windows 7 discs already. Give it a shot and see how you like it. Then you can purchase Windows 7 and install your legit version...or roll back to Windows XP if, for some reason, you don't like it.
