    Problems


    Ok so my new 500GB HDD came into today and I plugged it in and turned on my pc and its not recognizing it, so i turned it off and went into my bios and it was recognized there. so im not really sure whats going on with it ?

    also when i run setup.exe for win7 x64 it says its not compatible with my version of windows.

    Have you checked to see if it's installed alright in the device manager? What about in the disk management screen? You probably just have to format it to NTFS and give it a drive letter.

    ok got that sorted, just needed to be initalized and then yea formatted but what about win 7?

    You can't upgrade from a 32 bit system to a 64 bit, you need to set up a separate partition or hard drive and boot from the windows 7 dvd and install to the new partition or hard drive.

    o so i have to put all the data onto a DVD first?

    do i keep it into the .iso file or extract it all?

    im using nero tools btw

    iso and burn it at a slow speed and make sure you verify it.
