    This file will not leave.

    Hello Everyone,

I have researched this issue. I have scanned with AVG, Malware Bytes and MSCE.
The scans have come up clean. If I could take a screen shot of what windows does, I would. When you try to delete the file, windows says it needs to restart explorer,

This is is all taking place in My Documents. I need new ways of getting rid of this file. It is causing a work slow-down.

    Up for any ideas?

    Welcome try this

    Download Unlocker 1.8.9 - FileHippo.com

If that does not work, this does most of the time

    Folder won't Delete - ARGH

Be sure it is not a file essential to the OS. You may want to make a system restore point first.

Without a screenshot or a filename/location there is little we can do. You should have the Snipping Tool built-in to Windows 7, so you should definitely be able to attach a screenshot. If you aren't willing to do that, then gives us the filename and location.

    Hi, sarifnoir.

Sometimes the solution to deleting a stubborn file is as simple as booting to Safe Mode. It is certainly worth a try. (
Restart your computer. When the computer starts showing the hardware, repeatedly tap the F8 key on your keyboard repeatedly until you are presented with the Advanced Options. Select Safe Mode.)
