    invalid fonts issue

    Hello out there....
Trying to install a bunch of new fonts.
    Keep getting "....invalid font".
Tried a few workarounds without any luck.
Decided to try logged in as administrator & worked no problem.
But, the new fonts now only show up in Word & Photoshop, etc. when logged as Admin.
    HeLp....

See if this helps you out with that,

Give users permission to install fonts under Windows 7

Towards the bottom is a possible fix for you.

Also what type of fonts are they?

    Here's some general info too,

UAC needs to be disabled (Control Panel > User Accounts > Change User Account Control Settings, select “Never Notify”)
Now we need to give the user access to the font directory and registry key
    For the Directory:
    1. Open the command prompt WITH ADMINISTRATOR PRIVILEGES (right click cmd, “run as administrator”)
    2. Type “attrib –r –s c:\windows\fonts” (obviously minus the quotes), hit Enter
    3. Right click on the fonts folder and choose properties
    4. Click the Security tab
    5. Click Advanced
    6. Click the Owner tab
    7. Click the Edit button
    8. Change the Current Owner to yourself
    9. Check the “Replace owner on subcontainers and objects” box
    10. Click OK
As a pop-up box will tell you, you must close the window completely for the changes to take in effect
    For the registry key:
    1. Run regedit
    2. Browse to : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENT VERSION\FONTS
    3. Give permission to Users
Restart the computer and you should be able to set Full Control permissions for the Users group on the Fonts folder

    Hello,

I had to meet a deadline with something & could not get it to work.
Installed the new fonts on an XP machine & did what I needed to with them there no problem.
You know I was thinking about it & I installed three new TTF fonts on the W7 machine w/o issue way back when I first installed W7?
Why now would it be more of an issue (really a mess) than then?
