Windows 7: Downgrade Windows 7 Ultimate to original OS

Dear visitors,

I was wondering, when I upgraded my pc from Win 7 Home Premium to Win 7 Ultimate, if I could downgrade it back to the original Home version if I wanted to later?

There are a couple of routes you could possibly go here... If your computer has a recovery partition, you could restore the computer to its factory default, though you would get all the bloat ware too. If you have the actual install disc, you can perform a custom install, but you would have to format the disc first, then reinstall... Hope this helps!

There is a reporetd reg hack to downgrade. It basically involves fooling Windows 7 into thinking its a different edition.

The reverse hack, that of upgrading in non-MS-supported scenarios using this trick is more widely known.

This is a brand-new pc, without a recovery disc. The back-up partition has not yet been made.
I actually thought there is an easier way of doing this. I only want to upgrade it to Ultimate, so no full install.

Before you any think with new PC make your Recovery Disks.

If you would like to upgrade you can use the anytime upgrade.
Windows Anytime Upgrade - Windows 7 - Microsoft Windows

No install files needed.
Only the Upgrade key is neeed.

If it is a new computer you should have the option to make recovery discs in case you want to revert to Home Premium...

Go to Control Panel>System and Security>Backup and Restore and create a system image. You can save the image to an external hard disk, another partition on the same hard disk or burn it to a DVD. This will give you a system image that when restored will put the computer back to the exact state of the way it is when the image was made. Then you can upgrade to Ultimate. If you ever wanted to go back to Home Premium, you could then put in your Windows 7 disk, or create a system repair disc and put that in, restart and choose the option to restore the system from an image and then follow the instructions.

Because I don't want it in English and my parents are using that pc more, but they don't properly understand and read English.

oops, I did not mention yet that the original was English, but I need it in Dutch, which I have ready for installation.
