System Boots to wrong drive I have two hard drives in my Win 7 Pro Computer one is a boot driver with programs and the other is a data drive.
On several occassions now the computer attempts to boot to the data drive. I have had to go into the SETUP and change the drive sequence and the correct drive to boot to.
Any information or suggestions to eliminate this problem will be appreciated.

You more than likely have 2 instances of Windows showing on the boot choice screen and the 1st instance is in the primary position (i.e. you installed it last) so if you do not choose the 2nd instance prior to the timeout (DEFAULT is 30 seconds and won't change unless you did this) it boots to the primary, you can change this by typing msconfig>boot>change the other sequence to DEFAULT. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DELL XPS Studio 435T OS Vista 64 Ultimate, Windows 7 64 Ultimate, Ubuntu 9.10 CPU i7 975 3.3 GHz Extreme (Factory OC'd to 3.6 GHz) Motherboard DELL provided Memory 18 Gb Tri-Channel 1066 Graphics Card ATI 5970 2048 Mb Sound Card X-Fi Extreme Gamer Monitor(s) Displays Vizio 37" HD-TV Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080 Keyboard Logitech Performance K350 Wireless Mouse Logitech Performance MX Wireless PSU DELL Provided 475 watts Case DELL Cooling 3 fans Hard Drives 1.5 Tb HDD

No, I do not get a boot choice screen. It simply boots to the data drive (no windows on it) and goes into the check disk mode. If I reset the proper boot drive all is ok. This is the second time this happened that is why I am checking on a possible fix.
Thanks for your response.
