    Windows not genuine >:(

So just recently after installing a certain windows update it seems to have made my previously genuine copy of windows not genuine now. I bought my copy of windows from a trusted seller on ebay but now he's nowhere to be seen. Anyway this is besides the point.

For those of you who dont know about non genuine copies of windows, it pretty much changes ur background to black, and if u try to set it to something else it will reset back to black within a few minutes.

Is there a way to prevent this from happening? The black wallpaper is an eyesore.

    Thanks

    I may have bad news

Ebay sellers are notorious for selling not legit copies

MS has began issuing updates to detect cracked copies. I think you may have been taken. If not I hope another comes by that knows how to solve the problem.

Unfortunately, I have seen this before and it is not kind. You may want to call MS, to verify that the number is not legit. Try it this way
    Activate Windows 7 by Phone

I will offer any help that I can, just post.

My colleague RichC is correct. You can contact MS with the activation key and they will tell you

I left a link to activate by phone. If the number does not work a rep will come on to talk to you.

Run SLUI 4.EXE and follow the wizard to activate Windows 7 Starter by phone.

Note the space between SLUI and 4.EXE.

This will provide you with phone numbers you can call to help with activation problems.

from what i gather i have the blocked MSDN keys. Also its been more than 45 days since i purchased the key so i doubt ebay will help me with this. The only option i have now is to buy a key directly from Microsoft now :/

Anyway so does anyone have any ideas on the background issue?
