Can my Laptop run 64bit OS?

This information from the General tab in System Properties (I just upgraded my laptop RAM from 512mb to 1.25gb today!)

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Registered to:
Rober
Home
(nubers...)



Computer:
AMD Anthlon(tm) 64 Processor
3200+
1.99GHz, 1.25GB of RAM
Physical Address Extenstion

Why guess or depend on others, be sure and take this test.

I think you are a bit low on RAM to have good performance.

I did this and Yes my computer can run Windows 7, but it says on the programs list I might have issues using those programs but everything else passes, so this is a yes? I can run a 64bit OS?

This says 2 GB. I would not go for 64. You will not have good performance. The test is for minimum

O I can upgrade my RAM if I need too lol, I think my max ram is like 4.5gb? Idk how to find out how much ram my laptop can handle?

You do not need more than 4GB of RAM for good performance. So, if you want to upgrade and get additional ram go for it.

But I can run a 64bit os? whether it be a 64bit windows xp or 64bit vista right?

This is a forum for windows 7. I was discussing 7, but you can run 64 on Vista, too.
If you passed the test the answer is yes for 7 and Vista.

Alright thank you, Sorry about all the trouble. I'm only an 18 year old boy trying to learn about computers! But I'm going to buy 2 2GB RAM sticks and Install one, then Install a 64bit Windows 7.
