    Can't Access Cookies Folder

I tried changing the permissions but all I get is blah-blah-blah. I don't like the fact that I have no control over MY system (Where Will I Let You Go Today -- No Where).

Is there a hack to open these restrictions? I haven't used Windows for over 3 years so a lot has changed since my last "visit."

    Any suggestions appreciated,
    Burt

Are you browsing here : C:\Users\UserName\Cookies

    Or HERE: C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies

    Try the second one.

An easy way to get to your cookies is to type shell:cookies into Start/search and hitting Enter.

But tracking cookies may be anywhere. Use a good anti-spyware to flush them out.

    Kirsch,
Got it. Too many duplications but I suppose it helps those who don't want to see what's under the covers.

    Thank you,

If you are going to take the above advice, given by Kirsch, make sure that you go to control panel, folder options and make sure that hidden files and folders are allowed to be viewed. Also, you must unhide protected files. These are both shown under the view tab.

    Bill2,
I come from Linux so I've never paid attention to cookies, malware, spyware, etc. I am very cautious where I go and what I download but I guess there's always that chance of a blindside.

    Suggestions for AntiWare?

    Thanks,
    Burt

    Rich,
I've opened up my system to see everything. Before I did this I downloaded my bookmarks and didn't see the extension so I added it and ended up with bookmarks.html.html. Crazy stuff.

Superantispyware or Spybot- Search & Destroy or Lavasoft Ad-Aware.
